This year at CES everyone has been talking about the video streaming service Netflix.
The companies CEO Reed Hastings as been very excited to tell the worlds about Netflix’s plans to stream in 4K. Not only that but Hastings has announced that from now on all original Netflix productions will be shot in 4K. Popular shows such as Breaking Bad will also be remastered in the ultra HD format.
This gives Netflix a massive competitive edge in a market which currently presents very few options for 4K. Its unlikely a 4K disk format will ever be created due to the efforts involved, and as such Netflix’s decision to offer a 4K streaming service may prove to be the best decision they ever made.
Manufacturers of 4K TV’s will likely benefit from Netflix’s decision too, with 4K models looking like more attractive options.
